Personal Rescue: Safe Breathing in Emergency Situations
In conditions of thick smoke caused by fire or when toxic gases are released into the atmosphere, a hazardous and hostile situation can occur within minutes. In fires, it is often the toxic gases which present the main problem, and not the flames themselves. Even people who are rescued from a fire may well suffer from the later consequences of smoke inhalation for years to come.
This is why it is so important to get people out of such situations as quickly as possible.
On board cruise liners, for instance, large numbers of passengers have to be swiftly evacuated from hazardous areas. On an oil rig or in a port, on the other hand, it is often the personnel themselves who need to leave their workplace quickly and safely. Special life-saving equipment from Dräger is available to provide the best possible protection in all kinds of emergency scenes.
